Europe, Australia & New Zealand Patent Filings Completed

Elk River, MN. (April 28, 1999) -- SolarAttic, Inc announced today that it has completed patent filings in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. These "in-country" filings were due April 21. They follow the company's general international patent filing, its publication and two prior filings made in Israel and Canada. European filings were made in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Switzerland. These countries were selected because of their patent protection, markets and industrial capability. SolarAttic expects to seek joint ventures or licensing agreements within these countries.

This completes SolarAttic's foreign patent filings for coverage on SolarAttic's fourth U.S. Patent 5,746,653 issued on May 5, 1998. After filing a general international patent application and having it published, the company has to file within those particular countries it seeks patent protection in.

The patent covers a custom duct [or tube] that is perforated with holes. Hole size and location compensate for pressure loss along the duct's length allowing the duct to collect or distribute air evenly. One useful application of the technology is in venting attics. The technology would allow for controlled attic ventilation without roof vents. Ed Palmer, SolarAttic's CEO stated: "This patent represents a breakthrough in attic ventilation, air handling and solar heating technologies."

SolarAttic has developed a big piece of the solution to global warming by using all of the heat inside your attic. SolarAttic has discovered how to use this huge untapped heat resource for heating swimming pools, hot water and space. It's low cost energy, almost free to use! SolarAttic patented this heating technology. The company's fourth patent allows this heating technology to be more efficient. In addition, the technology can control attic ventilation eliminating ice-dams and roof vents.
