Australia and New Zealand Approve
Patent Grants For SolarAttic Technology
Elk River, MN. (October 16, 2000) -- SolarAttic, Inc. announced today that it has received
notice from its patent attorneys that Australia and New Zealand have approved its patent applications.
The patent in Australia is expected in November. The patent in New Zealand is expected in February
of 2001. Both patent grants cover the Company's new duct technology, which collects and distributes
air evenly along the length of a duct. Applications were made in a number of nations. The Australia
and New Zealand patent grants are the first ones received outside of the United States.
Ed Palmer, SolarAttic's CEO said: "This is an exciting milestone for both us and Radiant
Technology of Auckland, New Zealand. We now expect that Radiant Technology will manufacture
SolarAttic products in New Zealand for sales in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. These
patents will strengthen our efforts as we seek to penetrate energy markets in Pacific Rim countries."
SolarAttic has patented technology that recovers solar heat energy from attics. Attic heat
energy can be used to heat homes, provide domestic hot water and for heating swimming pools. The
company's new technology is expected to substantially reduce the need for burning fossil fuels in the
above areas. The new duct technology, subject of the above patent grants, will be initially used in attic
ventilation and heat collection applications. A brief summary of the company's technology can be
