Elk River, Minn. (Jul. 10, 1995) -- SolarAttic, Inc. announced today that it's new duct and ventilation technology will be presented in a technical paper at the Solar 95 conference being held in Minneapolis at the Marriott City Center from July 15 - 20th.
U of M Professor Ephraim M. Sparrow will present SolarAttic's new technology on Tuesday, July 18th, between 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. during the technical session on "Solar Thermal Low Temperature Systems and Components."
The new technology has been dubbed the "porous wall duct." It has the capability of efficiently collecting all attic-based solar thermal energy. When applied to building ventilation, the technology eliminates the need for roof mounted vents of all types by mechanically venting the attic. Building eave vents and one gable exhaust vent are still required. Such mechanical ventilation is more effective and predictable in eliminating the structural damage that results from excessive heat in the Summer and excessive moisture in the Winter.
Ed Palmer, SolarAttic's president, said: "The company expects that the new duct technology will have a significant impact on future profits and that the company is applying for a patent on the technology during August." For further information, contact James Kantorowicz at (612) 441-3440.
