Electronic Computer Senses Temperature & Humidity

Description

The SolarAttic Ridge Ventilator is designed for controlled ventilation of the attic.  It can also be used to collect attic heat and to redistribute this heat to another location.  Unlike simple roof fans, the ridge ventilator provides a "systems solution" to the problems encountered in attics.  It does this by using a patented custom duct technology that allows for the even collection of heat (air) along its length.  SolarAttic invented and owns this new technology.  Now, for the first time in history, ventilation of the attic is no longer a guess.  The ridge ventilator eliminates the need for roof based passive vents (holes).

Benefits

  • Eliminates Ice Dams
  • Reduces A/C Costs
  • Eliminates Roof Vents
  • Extends Roof Life

Automatic Operation

The 14-900A is a fully automated system that works as follows: The new SAVC-02 electronic control senses humidity and temperature. When the attic peak temperature (where the sensor is positioned) drops to 28° F, the control senses a winter condition and activates venting based upon excess humidity. The control then vents the attic whenever the humidity exceeds 35% Rh (adjustable).  It continues to vent the attic as along as humidity continues to decline and attic temperature remains below 28° F.  Venting stops if humidity increases below 28° F.  A "manual-on" position is available to vent the attic continually in extreme winter conditions. Above 28° F, the attic is vented steadily until it reaches 60° F.  This is the temperature range in which "thawing" occurs and ice dams are formed.  By venting the attic, the internal attic temperature is equalized to the outside ambient temperature.  This eliminates ice-dams by eliminating the temperature difference that forms them.  Above 60° F, ventilation only occurs in the summer when the attic temperature exceeds 105° F.  The 14-900A provides fully automated year around ventilation.  It is your "systems approach to attic ventilation."
